Over the past few years I have become a pre-launch junkie for games I am interested in.  ESO is no exception as I am encouraged by their "take what's worked and kick it up a notch" development approach.

Oh Arthearius, as someone who has played ESO I can tell you it's very fun. I can't wait till the beta's to be able to play again. The world is going to be massive and it finally blends all of my favorite games into 1 world. From Daggerfall - Skyrim all present. They even have the throwback to Arena and Redguard in there. Most of the locals you've come to love are in this game. It's like a collectors edition version of the Elder Scrolls series and from what I was told they plan to open new areas in sync with the new single player games. I can tell you from the first screenshots I saw to the actual game I played the graphics were significantly better. At first I thought they were going low res for speed but when i touched it they were on par with GW2.

Yeah Fog I am super stoked about this game. I have been calling for DAoC 2 since the day I stopped playing DAoC and looking at the planned development and the people behind it *cough* Matt Firor *cough* this may just be the one I was looking for. @Kalla Yeah sorry about that. I guess I should add a disclaimer LOL

Not just involved, but has a lot of power over the direction of the game.

Yea, I searched for some info about his involvement, looks like he's the president of ZeniMax Online and running the division that's developing ESO. I am a Matt Firor fan, so now my interest is extremely piqued.

Thanks for the sites, I've been looking for the best of these sites. The one thing that turns me off is the megaserver. It means im on the same server as my friends, and the same server as every troll in the game. The only thing that separates me is a questionaire. Im perfectly fine staying in the gsch bubble.

I've not played any of the Elder Scrolls, but have been told that they are a lot of fun. I think I watched 10 mins of my nephew play once. The videos look great, but have been rather spoilt by GW2s pay model now. I wonder if they will follow suit? http://www.youtube.com/embed/iiHMdCF9kNc

I can't wait for ESO honestly. As previously mentioned, I have played Daggerfall/Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim. The only one I finished was Morrowind though, need to reinstall Oblivion (keep getting lost on "what mods to install" to make the game better :P) and get back into that. I'm trying to avoid getting into research mode unless the game is getting close to Closed/Open Beta, otherwise I will disappear off the face of the earth and Marrra will hate me for it while I won't shut up 24/7 (more than normal!) :P EDIT: I also did NOT just open up the foundry and print off a few of the tabbed categories to read.. >.>

It will be interesting to see what kind of financial model they go with for this game. If they go with buy/sub, GW2 will still be the outlier, but if ESO goes buy2play as well, and ends up being similarly successful, I think we may finally be moving away from subscriptions permanently. Server costs are negligible compared to what they used to be for the early MMOs, and it's no longer a valid reason to charge a subscription, imo. Creating new content? ANet has added brand new (and deep) content month after month, so there's no reason others can't do it. GW2 is putting on the pressure in a really good way. :) Really interested in seeing how this develops. Check my email first thing every morning hoping for my beta invite, heh. Either way, I'll definitely be chillin around Tamriel in the months to come. I seriously hope it's only a matter of months!

why is a sub considered evil lol 50 cents a day is not even worth worrying about , if me paying them a fee to play gets a better game . GW2 is the first game without a sub i have ever played , been paying for a sub since 1999 and really don`t like the way they nerf drops, cash etc so the player will hopefully buy items off their gem store . I`d rather just pay a sub and get a better overall exp . People use the excuse that well sometimes you end up paying for a sub and the game isn`t that good , not getting patches, updates bug fixes etc so playing a game with no sub is better lol , just cancel your sub it`s easy . Hell i don`t even make a lot since texas cost of living is low my lowly 25 bucks a hour easily pays for over 2 years sub with just 1 day of overtime hehe . I havn`t spent 1 penny in their game store for GW2 however if this game had a sub i wouldn`t play it , as a lot seems , feel generic about it .
