Hel Ra after raid report

Hi

This post is to allow us  to discuss the Hel Ra raid from 8/9/15 and see how to improve to make next week's raid even better:

1. Everyone need to check their build to see if there is some way to improve it. I did not build Prissy to raid so now I need to go back and fine tune her.

2. Check your armor and make sure it is where it needs to be.

3. Are you using the right pots, foods etc., Do you have glyphs on all your armor, weapons, jewerly.

4. Everything seemed off last night, dps, heals, where was I suppose to stand? What do you mean run in a circle? Block what?

5. We need to find the right combination of people for the left and right side of the second boss.

6. I believe we have the group to do it, we just got to figure out who is right for the right job.

7. Have patience, bring your A game with you, be flexible, be positive and most of all have fun.

Please feel free to add your thoughts and suggestions here.

We will be Hel Ra, then AA, then whatever they throw at us next.

Crazy Prissy

Hi

I see people have looked at the report but no response posted so I guess I will start.

Everyone take a look at this dulfy walk through I like some of the thing i see for the right and left boss.

http://dulfy.net/2014/06/03/eso-hel-ra-citadel-trial-guide/

Look at it and then lets talk about it.

Things I noticed - left boss - not sure if the tank tanked the dogs - lots of moving around

right boss - lots of dps  on boss to start with to reduce the extra set of adds on the second split. everyone must have interrupts on there bar - each took one corner - extra started on one side -helped kill add then all 3 moved to the next - healer in center - meoters coming from someplace - i think the boss, red circle on ground dodge roll out.

When last one down boss reforms sort of in center then 2 more adds - kill adds, rember to interrupt and then dps with all your hearts on her so we do not have to do it again.

Any ideas or suggests

"stacking" armour sets makes a huge difference.  For magic users this usually means Martial Knowledge (4pc), Torug's Pact (2-3pc), Adroit (2pc), and Cyrodill Light rings.  "Of the Healers" is great jewelry also.  The VR 14 stuff is pretty expensive but the VR 13 stuff can be bought cheaply, with minimal DPS loss.

Builds/skill rotation ideas can be found @ http://deltiasgaming.com/  or  http://tamrielfoundry.com/ , keeping in mind there is a large differnce between AvA builds and those for end game PvE.  Look at their equipment, skill rotation, Attribute points and Champion Point distribution (hint: you need to be close to 20k in buffed health, the rest in your primary stat).

There are many Family members with great knowledge and experience in Trials, builds, and skill rotations.  Please seek them out. I have a fair understanding of PvE Sorc DPS and Templar heals/DPS and am willing to theorycraft or go over what you have and do, this can be done 1:1 or we could set a time for say an "all end game Sorc DPS pow-wow".

Glyphs, Pots, and food can be had for the asking, or just order ya' some from the Marketplace.

We can be successful at ESO raiding, it comes down to teamwork (and footwork), solid gearing and skills.

I agree totally Prissy with all of the points you made.  I also think we need to be more specific when we set the right and left sides up.  It may take more time but in the long run we will have more success.  I plan on looking at the video you posted as well.

Verve, I like the idea of a sorc DPS pow-wow.  :D

I can make food and glyphs if anyone needs them.

Another idea might be to practice working together on other Craglorn content in small groups.

I know I have to recheck something I did with Bris that makes her not as good in DPS as she was.  I also noted her bas health was different, but well I'm not too worried because I know that is going to be boosted nicely with the Nord racial change they are doing.  I'm going to take note of things, but think I'll do the most tweaking once the Imperial City comes out since it does change things up some for my character.

Things I've done with other groups that could help us.

1) Have a Nova drop sequence - for Hel Ra, most helpful for the first boss at that 30ish percent and down.  Another great thing is if Nightblades have Veil, stack them with a templar.  When the first is required our lead calls out Nova 1, as soon as that goes down then Nova 2 is called, etc.  I have yet to take down the final boss, so still trying to learn what we do there, but in his final phase of doing things is when I think we did our Nova deal and kept pounding him good.

2) Anyone not slotted for Nova or Veil, should be using ultimates as much as possible.

3) Do your best to DPS the snot out of things.  If multi things about, definitely bring out the AOEs.

4) One healer should be dubbed the tank healer.  They heal tank first and then help with everyone else.  A good thing for first and final boss in Hel Ra.

5) Right side, 4 people are given a split mob location to pay attention to.  That is their mob to interrupt on every split.  5th DPSer helps kill and interrupt as needed.  Like in the notes above by others, help on one side and then the other.  The healer stays in the center and does best with an AOE heal and quick heals.  Venom Arrow is one thing to just keep tossing out there non-stop on a split mob to keep it interrupted.  I forget the other skill we use a lot that damages and interrupts.  Both are ranged so the DPSers can stay in the AOE heal circle easier.

I would add notes for left side, but I'm usually right side with my other crew either as the healer or the backup dps/heal.

Don't mess with Mama Bear, I might hug you too tight. =D

Sea, thank you for your sacrifice :)

Let's talk Executes

At some point the Raid Leader or Tank will call for “executes”. This is usually a class specific skill that does extra damage to a low health target (Boss). What are the skills to use?

Mostly From: http://deltiasgaming.com/2014/10/06/eso-class-skills-guide/ (also a great reference for other must have skills)

Nightblade- Impale (morph of Killer’s Blade | Assassination) – The best finisher in the game, NB’s get a 28 meter ranged one that starts at 25% health. I don’t care what role you’re in, it’s important to burst down enemies that are nearly dead. I recommend Impale over Killer’s Blade simply for the added range. Nearly every fight discourages melee or close range abilities so think about bring this along.

Sorcerer- Mages’ Wrath (morph of Mages’ Fury | Storm Calling) – The Sorc’s finisher which isn’t as effective as the NB due to 20% health requirement. The best part about this is can be applied prior to 20% then go off if the enemies health drops below that mark. Only two classes have a true finisher and you should take advantage of it regardless of your role in the group.

Templar- Radiant Oppression (morph of Radiant Destruction / Dawn's Wrath) - Burn an enemy with a ray of holy fire, dealing X magic damage over 3 seconds. Deals up to 40% additional damage in proportion to your current magicka. Low health targets take up to 300% additional damage.

Dragon Knight- Sorry, you will have to rely on the weapon finisher Executioner (2-hander), but your DPS is so good you don't need an execute.

Bri's plan of using Nova and Veil for damage mitigation is very solid.  We need to incorporate it.

We also need a designated DPS destro staff user to have Elemental Drain up on the Boss at all times

Thanks Verve.  My other group I do Friday and Saturdays with use it a lot.  It is even more useful in AA than in Hel Ra.  I have not got through Hel Ra, but the particular group doing that still has a few of us learning, so we haven't quite got the last boss figured out, but last week's attempt was the best yet.

Sorry you had to give up the vamp, Sea.  For Hel Ra, it is burn city, but definitely not that way in AA.  We could always try it after the 8/31 patch due to the changes just to see if going to 25% from the 50% deal they have now on the fire issue makes enough difference or not.  It would be interesting to figure out even if we have another day of Sea turning crispy.  Until then it seems Vamp is a bugger of a thing in Hel Ra.

I wasn't with you guys Sunday because I kind of dropped out because of my unhappiness with being DPS.  But after reading Seacorals post I kind of wonder if the fact she was a vamp really had a lot to do with it.

For aVa, being a Vamp is great. But for PVE I find it to be a liability. I still wonder too that with the way the game is now, particularly with my Sorc I have to choose one or the other. I am not finding that with my Templar though.

Sel and I got with Verve the other day and went over our DPS spec for our Sorc's. I think it maybe a good idea if all the class got to together in smaller groups and maybe help out each other if they can on what type of gear they use and abilities.

Ok run Hel Ra with Dreadlords today (thanks Dreadlords). Things that they did that will help us:

1. They ran with 2 healers, 1 rank and 9 Dps, this should be our goal.

2. In the Alchemy skill line we need to have medicinal use maxed out so that our potions last 45 sec and we can use them again in 45 sec

3. One sorc used Elemental Drain every time it was available on the boss.

4. 3 people had the ultimimate on there bars and drop them when called for on the Warrior.

5. Basically something we have been doing, needed to be able to interrput the flame mages on right side and watch the gargoyle does not turn you to stone.

6. Left side  - worked better for me this time on the boss by being ranged so it was easier to see the aoe.

7. the Warrior just need to follow instructions and it seemed easier that the boss on the split.

8. There is no reason why we can not learn to do this, we are so close - I know we can
