Wakeup Call For Mr Archaedes

By: Aylune

The decision to return to the lost city of Uldaman was made after much careful consideration. The sheer might of the sleeping Titan found deep within an inner chamber forced the party to train harder than ever to defeat him. The crew members from the first dungeon delve that chose to return were much stronger now, as were the party members they picked to replace their absent team mates.

The party now consisted of the original two druids, an unscrupulous rogue, a furious human warrior, and a small gnomish mage who the team had initially mistaken for their previous mage. Fortunately the new mage agrees to venture into the underground, and quickly earned the name "Water Slave" for his ability to conjure the finest beverages out of thin air.

Venturing back into the tunnels it quickly became apparent troggs and dwarves had begun reclaiming the ruins. Understandable given the many new artifacts of incredible value that were being discovered. Together the party worked tirelessly to exterminate the Invaders, hopefully once and for all. Water Slave was particularly valuable here, leaping into huge swarms of enemies with a suicidal flair and releasing enormous arcane explosions to decimate the enemies as they tore into his soft, tiny, inexcusably squishy body. The healer did her best to keep him alive, panicking intensely every time the gnome made a move towards combat. Unfortunately some injuries are impossible to heal and Water Slave became a puddle himself. The parties tank, a fellow restoration druid, sacrificed his powerful ability to ressurect the dead to bring the mage back to the land of the living. There was a brief pause after the cast, leaving the party to assume the mage wished to stay in the great beyond, but a loud plea from the tank brought him forth.

("He better accept that, I have a 30 minute cooldown") -Bearch the tank

With the gnome restored to life they pushed on, the healer even more paranoid over the mages behavior, a prayer constantly on her lips between obscenities and a fistful of bandages in her hands. Fortunately actual death seemed to temper the gnome, and for the remainder of the dungeon he remained, for the most part, safely out of harm's way. Thankfully they experienced no other casualties by the time they found themselves at the door that his the sleeping Titan.

Doubt came creeping back like an insidious beast, they had made it so far and yet they were unsure they were ready to face this battle. The confidence that had grown from defeating all their foes began to wane in the shadow of the hulking figure filling the chamber. But bravery isn't bravery without a handful of fear so the crew charged forward.

The battle began like any other, 1 man doing his best to take the hits so his friends wouldn't have to, one woman who changed spells so quickly the words were hardly discernable, and three combatants giving it their all. Things changed once the boss began chanting in an ancient language and the stone men around he chamber began coming to life.

The added combatants immediatly assaulted the healer, but the brave rogue and warrior stood on the way and acted as a living shield to keep her standing. One by one he brought forth more allies and the team quickly diverted their attention to cutting them down until finally the Titan brought two stone wardens to life.

The two stone wardens were absolutely massive, and the party knew they didn't have the strength to keep the fight going that long, so instead of eliminating his summoned watchdogs they focused all their energy into defeating the master. Drop by drop they worked to bleed him dry, ignoring the painful blows from his gaurdians. Int he final moments just as the Titan was about to fall the group's tank collapsed to the ground instead, the healer too overwhelmed to watch over him correctly. Fortunately she mustered up just enough time to cast a rebirth on him before the enemies assaulting her tore her down, bringing the tank back to life just in time to defeat their foe. Thankfully the tank was able to ressurect her in turn, and she had to accept because it had a 30 minute cooldown.
