Unbelievable Defense!

When we saw the first Destro running to our door at our newly claimed and upgraded Stoneclaw Castle, we knew we would have a hard fight. Destro has been roaming the battlefields with big hordes of caothic warriors, and we expected them to come in big numbers as the defense ensued. And they did.
The first wave was not big, and it was too easy to repeal. After some minutes of fighting at the doors, we did a succesful push and Destro was sent running back to their Warcamp.
And while we waited for the Dtick, we wondered if they would come back in real numbers this time. Three minutes before the tick ended, we saw the first squiggies coming our way. And then, pouring behind them as a tide of steel and rage, we saw many Destro -- almost too many to count. We fell back into the outer walls and we did what we could to hold them at bay with artillery, magic and boiling oil. But they still were able to get close to our door and put a ram.
After that all the tanks went to the ground and we fought for our lives to destroy the ram and take them away from our door. We knew that if they breached the outer doors, the defense inside would be even more difficult. And somehow we managed to destroy their ram... and then they put another, and we repealed them again. After destroying the new ram, it seemed that fighting would go on forever. More and more destro closed in, and we, the tanks, were down there with our backs to the wall fighting agains too many destro to count, and trying to put down their third ram. It seemed to be a hopeless battle. But it seemed like destro morale has been broken by our resistance, or for the first defeat, and their numbers seemed to dwindle after almost half an hour of fighting at the doors.
And so we pushed...
There were so many of them still that it was hard to see what was happening around. We just pushed forward and attacked their healers as we could. I could see that our healers were running right behind us too. I started to order them back up the walls, so we were not wiped in case a new wave of destro flanked us in the way to Feiten's lock... but when I turned back, it was over. Tens of destro bodies laid all around, and we had routed them again.
Someone said "they had AAO 300%". And then, just then, I realized what we had just done.
