Lost In The Lost City

By: Aylune

The hunting party was tasked with a new mission, or several really. Dwarven archaeologists uncovered an ancient city. A huge complex burried deep beneath the firey sands of The Badlands. Upon this discovery came great opportunity, and it seemed everyone had a quest they needed completed. With such abundant work it was clear Uldaman was the place to go and it was here where our party became lost in the once lost city.

The tunnels leading to the ruins were long and convoluted. There were many tunnels that seemed to lead nowhere, many tunnels that turned around on themselves, and some that led to dangerous drops, and every tunnel was filed with the opportunistic dark iron dwarves, eager to raid the bounty before them.

With such a difficult layout and without any guide or map the party easily became lost just looking for the entrance, they became frustrated and took out their anger on the dwarves they encountered. Fortunately they were able to find their way in, usually the bodies of the fallen as a way to tell where they had already traveled.

Once inside they expected less trouble navigating the ruins, but they were quickly proven wrong. Unearthed doesn't mean the city was pristine, instead some rooms were wide open and others partially filled with dirt and stone. The winding tunnel system appeared to actually be worse inside the great gate.

The group struggled to complete their tasks while navigating the mant paths within. They frequently stopped to question each other, struggling to recall the many tasks given to them. It was through great fortune that they found one of their own alliance dwarves within the ruins to assist them. Finally with his guidance they were able to traverse the ancient city with a certain degree of success.

It was a long slow going process, working through rough terrain and fighting off invading dwarves and their filthy trogg companions, but the party pushed forward. They came here with jobs to do and they had no intention of letting their would be customers down. One by one they commandeered rods from the fallen dark iron dwarves. They picked the exotic new mushrooms for an expert alchemist. They obtained an ancient necklace for a gnome in ironforge. They unlocked and studied an ancient room for an archaeologist too afraid to travel in on his own.

The crew worked tirelessly to complete their tasks but the innermost bowels of the ruins proved too difficult for them to overcome. They turned tail and fled at the strongest enemy they had ever encountered; a long sleeping Titan that had now been awakened.
