A Plague Of Pigs

By: Aylune

After a long disgusting journey through the pig pit known as Razorfen Kraul our band of maurauders found themselves tasked with another quest to rid Azeroth of the quillboar menace. This time into a different burrow located nearby in the Barrens.

Things were different here. In the Kraul the enemies were disgusting, repugnant creatures and yet somehow fate hate found a way to.make them worse. The previous quillboar enemies had been alive, and here they were a Sounder of undeath.

Fighting the undead came with new challenges. The quillboar themselves had already proved themselves skilled with sword and magic but now they were even more powerful. The undead don't work the same as the living, these undead quillboar felt no pain and had no fear while fighting. Their attacks held nothing back, and they shrugged off what would have been lethal blows to their loving counterparts.

The biggest threat, however, was much more subtle than the squealing snorting pigmen. It began with a cough, the hacking wheezing cough of a person who inhaled smoke or took a deep breath in the presence of an overpowering odor. Then came the rash, a small redness that could be mistaken for anything but slowly krept up the druids legs until it reached the base of his spine. These undead monsters brought pestilence to the battlefield with them.

The parties healer was well versed in curse breaking, and the curing of poisons but was unprepared for the tidal wave of blight brought upon the party. Every drop of enemy blood, every splash of saliva from an enemy assailant became a threat.

The healer and the gnome mage stayed as far from the battle as possible, in an attempt to protect themselves from falling I'll, yet the two brave druids and a hand warrior pushed forward, fighting through a gauntlet of infections to push back the pigmen menace.

The group fought bravely, culling the plague-ridden swarm of enemies hiding within the den before retreating to civilization to treat their wounds. They knew the job was not yet done, that they would have to return to finish what they had started, but for now they had rest up and regain their strength.
