I don't even know, at this point, if anyone remembers me! I joined up with Gaiscioch early on in Rift, used to love doing the crafting Rift runs and all the wonderful zone-wide adventures that Fog and others ran to include everyone, not just Gaiscioch. Then along game GW2 and I was right there, ready to go with my pre-purchased game and key. I got my hubby, Atheas, hooked on GW2 and he joined up with Gaiscioch but it didn't go well, to say the least. lol. The WvW was something I looked forward to but in the beginning you couldn't get into the area to play with the family at all. Atheas got the boot from the guild for not logging into the website and that was okay, totally up to him. There were changes to GW2 that we didn't like (not Gaiscioch things, but game things) but we kept playing. This past April we moved from the Dallas, TX area and my beloved Verizon Fios ended. Living in a major metropolitan area I had no clue how impossible some parts of the country are for basic, decent Internet. We live on his family's land on the Virginia side of the Cummberland Gap. The area is not prosperous and is definitely rural. Internet providers are limited ... I didn't even know dial-up still existed and that was "my bad." We are fortunate that we are able to have "Dish" satellite internet but it has limits. 10 Gigs a month and then you are slowed down so much it isn't even worth doing more than checking emails; totally impossible to game during their "slowdown." Gaming has become non-existent for me. Atheas still games on GW2 for a bit each day, but our "anytime" gigs never last through the whole month and that is with me not even trying to get on to GW2 at all. I have missed y'all, that is for sure. I have read about some of the GW2 changes and hear about them from Atheas and it sounds like the "community" feeling is even farther from what we used to have in the game than ever. I don't know when I will get to actually game again, definitely not in the near future. This is the first time, since I started gaming in EverQuest (Kunark era), that I have had my wings clipped. I can't see this changing anytime soon since there is NO unlimited internet offered anywhere in this area at all. To those living in civilization cherish your unlimited internet! =) I do hope to get to game again but it could literally be years before there is any viable gaming-worth internet in these Hillbilly Mountains. =/ I do think about y'all. Keep up your awesome gaming fun and spread the family-idea of Gaiscioch all over the gaming world. =)
