Yes that did look pretty cool. I have been keeping my eye on this title but dont know how well it will do with the other games that are coming out.
You can do something like this in Everquest 2, as well, but its more dungeon... I have no idea, I never really got into the details of their system. EQ2 has had it for a couple of years, now.
Looks good. I can't wait to spend the majority of my time with that foundry. I'm hoping it's possible to create solo/duo/group/raid content with it eventually.
I'm also hoping that you can create raid content. There are alot of creative people out there and I can't wait to explore what they make. I was also reading on the Neverwinter forums and there is an RP guild that plans to create content to go along with their RP story line. I can see the Foundry being able to sort of bring pen and paper games to life. I definitely will be checking this game out since it is free to download and free to play.
This looks cool, I am looking forward to playing!
If you want to see how the Foundry will work, check out Star Trek Online, since Perfect World owns both games. STO has had the Foundry in game there for a good while, and the same devs have worked on both the STO and NW foundry. Some of the best missions in game have been made by players. However, there was originally a limit on the number you could play a day and receive credit for. I don't know of that limit is still the same or not, however.
Hm, that interesting to know. PW must have added that system after they bought Cryptic from Atari.
I believe they did. They got it workable for STO and then pulled most of the devs off of STO to work on the Foundry for NW. With any luck, it'll be even better for for NW. You have to tinker with the creator a bit to get the missions to work, but players have done a great job with it.
STO's f2p if you want to give it a whirl.
