News from: MMORPG.com

A new post has appeared on the Elder Scrolls Online forum that will bring some welcome news to players working through Veteran content at the post-50 level: Changes are coming beginning Monday, July 7th. The team has been listening to player feedback about how content post-50 is dramatically different from all that came before. To answer to concerns and wishes of those who want to continue to be able to solo much of the content, Veteran content will be undergoing a significant change.

maybe they`ll even change the requirement to quest in the other factions lands ,and make lvling in AVA better so we can skip pve completly .

1.  Never, its by core design intent.  That's why they keep nerfing the single area grind spots, they want you doing that content.

2.  Hopefully, but doubtful.  In hindsight, we couldn't level efficiently out in the Frontier on DAoC, either, so since this is the same team (according to Fog) we'll still have a lot of similar design, both good and bad.  :\

We'll see what they toss at us come Monday.

true we still had to do pve even in battle grounds like thrid and frontiers etc but atleast it was in a pvp area  . so while out doing pve you always had to look over ya shoulder , half the fun .

but yes  doubtful to both , there should always be more than 1 path to progress we`ll see sunday what`s changed   i like the ava but the lvling system is very annoying  .

Waiting till official patch notes are released to comment further but after reading the referenced ESO forum thread I have one thing to say:

Making V ranked zones easier is only going to satisfy people that are playing this game through with a single-player mindset. This will further reduce the incentive there is to find a fellow adventurer to play with, which is why I'm assuming you're playing an MMO and not the most recent TES game.....maybe I'm crazy.

I don't think making the veteran content easier is solely to appease the people who want to play ESO as a single player RPG.  It's also a pragmatic decision based on the number of people in the Veteran areas at any given time.  Get past the first 2 or 3 zones and it becomes increasingly harder to find people to group with.  That being said, I don't necessarily find the Vet content difficult anyways.  The mobs are not harder to kill, they just take longer to kill.  It's like if you're doing a jigsaw puzzle and they just added 10 more pieces at the bottom of it to make it 'harder'.

I think this is great for the game's short and long term health.  If the changes are substantial enough, it might attract some people back to the game and it will help keep future players interested in the game.  It's also nice to see that they're conducive to change based on player feedback.

I would primarily be most interested in any changes that allow a person to realistically level through the VR levels while doing AvA as an alternative to the quest/zone stuff.  That would take away that feel that you're required to level through the quest zones in order to better AvA.

Dissapointing that they choose to focus on changing a mechanic rather than fix the major problems that are present with the game right now.  FPS issues in AvA make the game basically unplayable if more than 15 or 20 players are present.

From the patch notes:

"Implemented a fix that will marginally reduce the server lag while in Cyrodiil"

They are working on it Kaytlin - I just don't think that they are aware of the "what" that is actually causing it since it occurred after a patch they did - so they are backtracking in steps to attempt a fix.  It is either this way or to completely undue a patch which is not a great way to do it.

I think that is why they always say "will "reduce server lag" instead of "eliminate" - they will find it.   I'm still getting over 30 FPS most of the time and only have to re-log generally 1 time every couple of hours.   This also plagued GW2 for quite a while - we all remember the invisible enemies we used to fight and there were far fewer of them on the screen than there is in ESO.  I realize no one likes it - but baby steps is always the better way.  There is seldom an instant fix.

-----------------

I also agree on the Vet content.  It was extremely hard - and leveling was at a snails pace - well, a snail with a bad hip and a broken foot.   I don't think what they have done will speed it up that much.  But as an example - doing the starter island in the other zones as a V1 is a challenge - a pretty good challenge.  Which I didn't expect.  I would think the challenge should be comparable to when you first start - and it isn't - it is much, much more difficult.  Yes, I could handle it - but it isn't the same and for the amount of Exp you get - the risk reward isn't there.  I will fight through it regardless of how they handle it.  I think reaching V12 should be a "great" thing and when I reach it in a few years (cough/cough) (wait - I think I'm serious) it will feel like the accomplishment it should be.
