Everyone else has been voicing their positives, that I mainly agree with. However, as I am a contrarian by nature, I thought that I would list a few things that annoyed me. I'm sure that most of these will be fixed by release, but I would like to see if anyone had similar IRKs.
- Having to type /reloadui a google of times.
- Having to leave multiple quests unfinished because a portion of it was bugged. Many of them I was able to finish later after filling out four to five crash reports.
- Being a dutiful Beta tester and trying to fill out the "what were you doing" portion of the crash reports with as much detail as possible.
- Not being able to get my white horse, even though I pre-ordered the Imperial version almost a month ago.
- ESO Customer Support sending me back, for the third time, a form letter template detailing all the perks of an imperial pre-order in response to my questions about why I had no white horse.
- Sneaking into a Covenant Spy's house, while he was out, to search for evidence of his heinous crimes....just to open the door and see 30 other players rushing about, in 400 square feet, doing the same thing.
- Standing around with a herd of PvE players waiting for some critical element of a quest to spawn.
- Trying to see anything meaningful in zone chat while irritated herds of PvE players waiting for their quest element to spawn are spamming their irritation in zone chat.
- Trying to group with people in PvE was cumbersome, especially when dealing with phasing issues.
- Trying to solo level my healer to ten, so I could PvP, and running into too many quests that were to much for my pitiful DPS. That's not ESO's fault, just my crappy party support build trying to go it alone after multiple group phasing issues.
- The stop motion animation that was PvP in Cyrodiil. Though, when I went to some of the live beta streams, they didn't seem to have any of the same issues? Were they on the same servers as the rest of us? I tried two different campaigns with the same results.
- Starting out on another Cyrodiil marathon to try and rejoin my low survival percentage group after I "just died for no apparent reason", probably ganked in between stop motion frames by someone who had their "prevent lag" spell going and ....were.....laughing......at.......the......oblivious.....idiot......stutter.....stepping......past......them.....in......slow......motion.
I know this is a Beta Test, and bugs are to be expected, and I didn't go into this expecting an smooth as glass playing experience. I just wanted a little whine with my cheese. I am looking forward to release and will have a tonne of fun playing ESO with Gaiscioch. My current plan is to spend the first two weeks leveling up my builds in PvE and then have them go into PvP after the initial spasm has worn off when they are at level 17 or so. Fog has even said, during the podcast, that there would be a wait between release and when the guild(s) were setup and PvP campaigns were chosen, so it seems that would be a good time for leveling during that time period.
