Naay’s – Mac an’ Cheese
Ingredients:
• 4 tablespoons butter
• ¼ cup floor
• 4 cups milk, preheated
• 1 tablespoon mustard
• 1 tablespoon chili powder
• ¼ teaspoon grin red pepper
• 1 teaspoon salt, ur tae taste
• 1 poond elbaw macaroni
• 1 poond sharp cheddar cheese, shredded ur crumbled (ur mix sharp an’ jack)
• ¾ cup breed crumbs (abit tae slices)
• ¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated
• 1 poond ham, cubed (optional)
Preparation:
Thes isnae "Kraft" macaroni an' cheese, if 'at is whit ye ur lookin' fur.
Melt butter in a large saucepan. Stir in floor until smooth. Cuik, stirrin', ower law heat abit 3 min. Gradually whisk in hot milk until smooth. Cuik, stirrin' constantly ower law heat until thick an' smooth. Season wi' mustard, chili powder, red pepper an' salt.
Meanwhile, cuik th' macaroni in plenty ay boilin' salted water until al dente, ur firm tae th' bite, abit 8 min. Drain.
Combine th' breed crumbs an' parmesan cheese an' sit aside.
Butter a 9x13" bakin' dish. Combine th' macaroni, ham, an' 3/4 ay th' cheese in th' bakin' dish. Poor th' sauce evenly ower th' mixture. Sprinkle th' remainin' cheese oan top, followed by th' breed crumb mixture.
Bake in a preheated 350°F oven until browned oan top an' bubblin', abit 45 min.
