Apparently it's a legit offer. I dunno if Gaiscioch is interested in it, but personally I've been hampered from communicating over the guild Raidcall as it has no support for Mac. I don't know how many other guildies play on a Mac. If we wanted to make a switch to TS3, this seems like a good deal.
Sorry Angri, we are happy with RaidCall at this time as it supports large events without slowdown. There are ways that you can listen on raidcall from a mac. I'm certain one of our mac experts can walk you through it. Last I heard the mac client was in testing. Hoping it will release soon.
Alrighty. I'm not expert on how these programs perform under high stress, but I've never experienced an issue with TS3 under high load. I also had Raidcall duct-taped into working order until a month or two ago, and an update killed the Wine compatibility, which despite my best efforts has left the entire program unusable entirely. Regardless, I'll be building a new Windows PC come the holiday season, so it's not likely to be an issue for long.
I've been battling TS problems with SOR for the past year. Would not look forward to doing it here too. DDOS threats are high with TS. RaidCall being cloud based makes DDOS rather hard to pull off. Stability is vastly improved ver our Ventrilo days and way better than what we've had to deal with with SOR ts.
Interesting. Didn't know they were cloud-based. I definitely wouldn't want to go back to Vent, one of my guilds used it for awhile back in GW1 and it was horribly unreliable.
Raidcall is a lot more reliable as a VOIP platform. I know it sucks to be a Mac user and unable to use it right now, but that's something that Mac users need to take up with the Raidcall team. Raidcall used to have a Mac client, but they discontinued its development, iirc they cited a lack of interest among their users. Its the same reason that a lot of game developers won't bother with a Mac client port for their games.
