Foghladha Goes On Real Life Adventure

This next month I'll be away from the keyboard largely and will not be hosting any events. I'll be traveling abroad to help my wife visit her mom who she hasn't seen in 6 years. I have left instructions for the elders to act in my stead and will be checking in via Discord from time to time.

Gaiscioch For Extra Life 2024 takes a new shape.

With the chaos of this year cranked up to max I am going to simplify our annual Charity Livestream event. We will be exploring 6 games this year. There will be 3, 11-1 PM PT sessions showcasing new games that have grabbed our attention this year on each of our event days. Then we will be diving into 3 of our core chapters and adventures to showcase the various content these games offer.

Want to give a special shout-out to those members who are helping enable our community to do great things. Their financial support has allowed us to expand the tools at our disposal and maintain the community without burning a hole in my personal savings. While a still do pay a bit out of pocket their contributions have prevented me from having to work side gigs to keep us afloat and for that, I am eternally grateful. In Loving Memory of Starshadow (1984-2024)

It is with a heavy heart that I report the passing of Starshadow, a beloved member of our Guild Wars 2, Elder Scrolls Online, and Final Fantasy XIV communities after joining us in 2015. She passed away in early August due to sepsis from an ailment that her doctors weren't able to properly diagnose.

In Loving Memory of Streamcat Carl (2011-2024)

Today we remember Carl, the legendary stream cat who brought joy and laughter to our Livestreams for 10 years. His witty presence will be deeply missed. Carl passed on August 29th, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by his community.

Gaiscioch Family Promotions:

I wanted to take a moment to say congratulations to a few members this month for accepting their next credo and stepping into a new role in our family.

Guardians (Seaimpín)

The Gaiscioch Family Guardians are an advanced part of the Veteran Members group and serve as the front line of our family. They help newer members learn about the family, our website, and our belief system. They occasionally will need to help get conversations back on track, or report misdoing's to the family elders. They act as advisors, guidance providers, and overall protectors of the family name. By this time a member should be involved in the family for more than 6 months and has been an active attendee in family events. For those who prefer fellowship over leadership this is the last stop on the family tree. Members must prove their leadership ability to progress to the Leadership ranks through the accumulation of both Valor Points (Earned through leading events.) as well as earning Tokens of Valor from lower ranked members of the family.

Gaiscioch Closes Out a Season of Rebellion

Since the launch of Conqueror's Blade the Gaiscioch Community focused on being a starting place for players to learn about the foundational elements of the game. We created marvelous fiefs and opened them for all to craft in. For the most part, people left us alone and let us build nice things for all to enjoy.

Once Human Captures Interest of Many Gaiscioch

Over the past month, we've seen a whole lot of activity in the Once Human community. There are several different circles of players forcing up guilds and playing together on various servers. Overall the game has been received well and it looks to be something that our members will be playing for a while. Be sure to enable the role on Discord and get involved.

The First Descendant a success among Gaiscioch

We've seen quite a few members playing this new sci-fi cooperative game. It has made its way into our Best of 2024 list and will be featured at this year's Gaiscioch for Extra Life Charity event. Be sure to activate the role on Discord and connect with others playing this new free-to-play gem.
