Summertime is coming to a close as we enter the biggest gaming season of the year. Over the next few months, we can expect an influx of members returning to the fold after a summer of outdoor adventures. In addition, this is the peak game release season where we will see more beta's, alpha's, and game releases than any other time of the year.

This month expect to find quite a bit of activities to get involved in. Guild Wars 2's new expansion Secrets of the Obscure will be the focal point of our monthly adventure lineup with events in exploration and unlocking the Dragonscale mount. In addition, we will be continuing our New World Lootapalosa event and be returning for Crusades-themed Season 17: Knightfall in Conqueror's Blade. Be sure to get involved and have some memorable adventures this September!

Extra Life 2023 Plans Extended to 5 Full Days of Fun!

For the past 13 years, the Gaiscioch has amassed an army to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network during the Extra Life Charity Event. Together we have raised almost $55,000 for children's charities across America and have helped countless children receive the care they need. For many of us this fight is personal. For others, they just want to be part of something epic. Together we hold the line and help the children have a second chance at an epic life. This year we've planned for 5 full days of activities and fun to enjoy. A total of 24 games being shown in this year's event. Check out our calendar of activities.

Letting Elder Scrolls Online Sleep for Now

It's never easy to say goodbye to a chapter. We have seen a gradual transition in Elder Scrolls Online over the years. It began as a vibrant MMORPG community with our membership exceeding 1,500 active players. In 2018 we hosted the Chronicles of Tamriel and cleared zone after zone as a massive group exploring the far reaches of Tamriel. In Alliance vs Alliance we ran upwards of 3 raid groups at a time and conquered Elder Scrolls for the Ebonheart Pact.

Their financial support has allowed us to expand the tools at our disposal and maintain the community without burning a hole in my personal savings. While a still do pay a bit out of pocket their contributions have prevented me from having to work side gigs to keep us afloat and for that, I am eternally grateful. I wanted to take a moment to say congratulations to a few members this month for accepting their next credo and stepping into a new role in our family.

Guardians (Seaimpín)

The Gaiscioch Family Guardians are an advanced part of the Veteran Members group and serve as the front line of our family. They help newer members learn about the family, our website, and our belief system. They occasionally will need to help get conversations back on track, or report misdoing's to the family elders. They act as advisors, guidance providers, and overall protectors of the family name. By this time a member should be involved in the family for more than 6 months and has been an active attendee in family events. For those who prefer fellowship over leadership this is the last stop on the family tree. Members must prove their leadership ability to progress to the Leadership ranks through the accumulation of both Valor Points (Earned through leading events.) as well as earning Tokens of Valor from lower ranked members of the family.

Season 17 Approaches and Hibernia returns to the Southern Borderlands

This season we're going back to the classics. We spent all of last season farming up silver, siege, unit kits, and experience in hopes we could replenish our coffers for the following season. This season we are setting our sights on the southern borderland towns of Brittia, Walewein, Kerlich, and Sobek as our target fiefs for upgrading. We are going to do our best to get siege crafting on the map for everyone by mid-season.

A Bit of Turbulence Meets our Wayfinders Adventure at Launch

As launches go, Wayfinder had it rough. 2 weeks in and even being able to get in at a reasonable time is a challenge. Their early access Launch certainly could have been better but they are hard at work smoothing things over. That said from what I've played and heard the game is truly enjoyable once you're in. Will people give it a chance after such a miserable start? That is to be decided.
