Here comes the fall and a wave of new games, expansions, events, and returning members. Things should start getting back to normal in our community. By September we should be back in full swing. In addition, we've got an action-packed month of new content and game releases. With all the excitement I'm going to leave my calendar a bit more open than usual to make accommodations for new titles or adventures to spawn up as we proceed through August.

Gaiscioch for Extra Life 2023 Approaches With 2 Additional Promotional Weekends

We're just a few months away from this year's charity event making our 13th year supporting the Extra Life Charity Event benefiting the Children's Miracle Network. Being there is so much new wonderful content available this year, I'm going to do something a little different. In addition to our 3-day event November 3-5th, I will be hosting two promotional stream days on October 22nd and October 29th to help build up the Hype Train.

In Loving Memory of Scott "Arsnocte" Williams (1971-2023)

With a heavy heart, I report the passing of Arsnocte on June 28th. His nephew brought the news to me. Scott 'Arsnocte' Williams, age 52, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Scott was born in Fort Wayne, IN.

COVID finally strikes the Foghladha Household

It was all going well. For 2 and a half years I managed to play people are lava at the highest tier and succeed. Sadly there comes a point in everyone citizen's life when you get summoned to jury duty. Being stuck in the basement with poor ventilation and no windows with 150 unmasked people for 4+ hours was the thing that finally got me.

Their financial support has allowed us to expand the tools at our disposal and maintain the community without burning a hole in my personal savings. While a still do pay a bit out of pocket their contributions have prevented me from having to work side gigs to keep us afloat and for that, I am eternally grateful. I wanted to take a moment to say congratulations to a few members this month for accepting their next credo and stepping into a new role in our family.

Guardians (Seaimpín)

The Gaiscioch Family Guardians are an advanced part of the Veteran Members group and serve as the front line of our family. They help newer members learn about the family, our website, and our belief system. They occasionally will need to help get conversations back on track, or report misdoing's to the family elders. They act as advisors, guidance providers, and overall protectors of the family name. By this time a member should be involved in the family for more than 6 months and has been an active attendee in family events. For those who prefer fellowship over leadership this is the last stop on the family tree. Members must prove their leadership ability to progress to the Leadership ranks through the accumulation of both Valor Points (Earned through leading events.) as well as earning Tokens of Valor from lower ranked members of the family.

Veteran Members have proven their devotion to the family by participating in events and contributing to the family's success. They have been active more than 90 days and have continued to be contributing members to the family.

Chapter 4:

Secrets of the Obscure Launches on August 22nd

A new chapter unfolds in Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure, the fourth expansion for the award-winning MMORPG Guild Wars 2. Soar through the skies to combat the strange and otherworldly forces emerging through rifts to devastate Tyria. The adventure continues through three major story and content releases to follow. A self-contained story with its own resolution will play out at launch. Later releases will seamlessly pick up where the launch arc concluded and tell the rest of the expansion's story. Additional features and updates across the game are planned for release every quarter.

Season 16 Coming to a Close

This season has been a lot more bloody than previous seasons. With all three capitals in play, there was little to no place in the world that wasn't considered valuable. We stood our ground against many goes and only has a couple of wars without confrontation. Overall I am really proud of the 14-20 of us who managed to make territory wars and think we did really well against the numbers we were facing.
