As the summer approaches my schedule began filling with holes, as business was pulling me away this spring into summer. Instead of having 3 different breaks in the middle of the Tyrian Adventure I've moved it to a 10-straight-week timeframe where I have no commitments/conferences. This also gives ArenaNet more time to introduce more content and allow us more time to put together all of the Legendaries we're working on.
We are in critical need of:

Hail and Well met Gaiscioch Raiders. It's time for us to begin our assault on Tantric Depths. We will be running Tantric Depths every Monday night playing our hand at the raiding scene. We will also likely run some Queen's Foci events when it's available. We will be working towards forging a raiding team that can clear the modern raids with style.

Over the past month Trion shared some plans for 4.2 that included adding Raid Rifts to the new world as well as adding an entirely new zone designed to challenge groups. It looks like 4.2 is the SFP we originally thought we were going to get.
Be sure to head over and read Trion's Producers Letter. You can skip over the first half.

As Ashes of Creation is the first game since ESO that lines up with our communities Compatibility Matrix, I've decided to keep you all updated on developments as we keep a close eye on it. To kick things off I'd like to catch you up on why this game landed on our radar. Before we get too far along feel free to check out this intro video.
Ashes of Creation is a subscription MMORPG from many of the developers who were behind Everquest Next, Planetside, Star Wars Galaxies and Vanguard. Their aiming to bring a very stunning environment to life using the Unreal 4 engine. Complete with full season changes that affect the weather and what terrain is passable during certain times of the year. Lakes freeze over!
In addition their dungeon system is looking to add some cinematic flair and seems very engaging where certain classes can definitely have an impact on how the group completes a challenge. Take a look at this video about dungeons. You can tell in this video that they are spending a great deal of time on the aesthetics of their dungeons. Dungeons & Raiding are going to be a big part of this game.
It features Op-In PvP which means that at no time will you be killed without wanting to expose yourself to being killed by other players. Griefing isn't an option as you must flag yourself or walk into a contested area to be flagged PvP. This is the same sort of system that made Warhammer Online so great in it's day.
It's premise is built around its node system. This system allows guilds to claim a territory and watch it grow. It's growth is limited by the people contributing it's growth. If players quest, craft, and farm in its influence zone the village will turn into a city, and turn into a metropolis. It's growth however is also based on the growth of the nodes next to it. In some cases you will be limited by how big the city next to yours is. There is a lot of interesting mechanics involved in the node system and right now Intrepid Studios is releasing a series of blogs about it.
Most importantly for our community, Ashes of Creation is built from the ground up to embrace large communities and actually encourage them. The guild size limit at this point has not been mentioned but the developers have mentioned thousands of guild members. They have also stated that they want to put the Massively back in Multiplayer games. Their standpoint with guilds and communities is in line with our own. We could be looking at another RIFT guild system here that allows our growth to be limited by our desire not by game systems.
Here's a collection of the things I feel you might want to look at when thinking about this game.
Also of note take a look at Cryy's overview of the game systems involved in Ashes of Creation.

Want to join the magazine team? Be sure to join us on Discord for our Magazine Team meeting on April 1st. We are looking to build our team back up and get our magazine back into the 200 page range. We're looking for Fiction writers, Editors, Game Previewers, Reviewers, and Guide Writers. Pretty much if you want to get published, we want to publish. Join us! You might even score a new game or an opportunity to interview one of your favorite devs. Did I mention that you might be able to get behind the scenes at conferences if you write enough?
This year I plan on rebuilding the magazine template from the ground up. Over the last 3 years I've learned a lot about inDesign and found better ways to do things. We've been using the same template for 3 years and it can be rebuilt to flow a lot smoother than the original. You may not notice the change on the final edition, but the development of the magazine should be a lot faster.
I am also planning on making the magazine a wrapup of the content that was released in the past quarter along with a few major cover stories. The goal is to allow us to go straight to site when an article is ready, then publish it in our Quarterly Magazine. Our major stories will appear first in the magazine then be published the week the magazine goes live. But the game reviews, previews, stories, and guides will be able to be deployed right away. Thus allowing them to hit when the topic is hot.

I've finally turned on the voting system for livestreams. Currently testing it out on the Side Quests livestreams, livestreamers will be able add polls to their landing pages where players can choose their next adventure. It's my hopes that we can start having some more interaction with our viewers and continue to grow our livestream community. Head over to the Side Quests Livestream page and cast your vote using your Gaiscioch Passport.
Over the past month Twitch has added a few new features that we can begin making use of. The first of which is Communities. I've created a Gaiscioch Streaming Community and welcome all Gaiscioch & Tuatha members to use the Gaiscioch community when they stream. In your main dashboard you can select "Gaiscioch" under Community. This will help link us together and allow us to share each other's streams.
Twitch viewers be sure to follow the Gaiscioch Streamers at: https://www.twitch.tv/communities/Gaiscioch
The second major improvement is the ability to post "events". I've begun using these to put our stream schedule directly on Twitch. This way people can see when the next stream is and what it's planned to be. I'm really looking forward to how Twitch will make use of this feature. Now if only they had a "Recurring" or a way to Copy an event. That would be awesome :D.
Be sure to type "+rank Livestreams" in Discord to enable the Livestreams text channel. Be sure to chat with Foghladha and we can add you to our autohost list. We also have several opportunities to guest star in various livestreams.
