First and foremost, let me say Happy Birthday GmaFog :D. Thanks for putting up with my crazy antics for all these years. It takes a special kind of mom to raise her child in a way that does not limit his creativity and imagination. Everything I accomplish in my lifetime is because you helped me become this person so I say thank you with my full heart.

Last month was a bit of a rough one with the passing of Rhynor, many of us still unemployed or on reduced pay, and covid-19 still running rampant. This upcoming month however I'm hoping for a bit of light. We've got new content coming to Guild Wars 2, Elder Scrolls Online, and Conqueror's Blade. These are just some of the things I'll be covering in this month’s Gaiscioch Community Notes.

Farewell to Rhynor

This past month we lost a dear friend to colon cancer. Rhynor joined us during our return to RIFT in 2016. She quickly landed on our Elder Watchlist as she was a very compassionate and supportive player who spent most of her time helping others or the community. Within a few weeks I had her helping me with things typically Elders deal with. 

She loved being helpful. Rhynor and I stayed up late farming bounty trophies to give away for our Telara Saga community event. 

On July 13th we gathered for a quick memorial to remember this remarkable woman who battled this demon for 4 years and somehow kept a positive and friendly attitude.

Extra Life 2020
Go Big or Go Offline?

It's official! I requested Nov 1-7th off! This year's #ExtraLife charity event is going to feature 30+ titles spanning the course of 7 days in this massive Livestream event! We're hoping to somehow raise $5,000 for the Children's Miracle Network in this week-long charity fundraiser. 

Over the course of the next month, I hope to have the new site complete and ready to start taking signups. This year I'm hoping to be able to highlight a few of last year's favorites along with some new gems I've found this year. As always there will be loads of prizes up for grabs.

Casting Call!

As you may know, November marks the beginning of our 20th year. I have an idea for a video I would love to make to celebrate 20 years of Gaiscioch but it will take a few voices to help me tell a story. Our community has members from the far corners of the world. From places like the USA to Russia. From Germany to Argentina. South Africa to New Zealand. China to Denmark. In total we represent a unified family from over 40 nations. At times we've seen that climb into the 60's. 

The story I would like to tell in this video is the beauty of humans. A story of the times we've shared, people we met, and the challenges we've overcome. One where nationalism doesn't outweigh humanism. I want to show how the community for two decades has allowed us to be brothers and sisters regardless of our religious backgrounds, nationalities, colors, or beliefs. We stand as a united Gaiscioch against the mistreatment of others. We've helped children have a second chance at life, laid loved ones to rest, and celebrated as new lives are born into this world. I am very proud of this and think we have a powerful message to share. While the world tries to drive us apart, gaming has brought us together.

What I would like to find is people who would be willing to be recorded stating their Handle, their Country, and what games they've played with us. I'm going to mix them together and try to compile a list of 30+ people sharing their voice for our community. I think this could be a really powerful and encouraging message that we are all in this together. If you're interested in being in this video please let me know and I'll schedule some time to record the clip :). Thank you all for making this a grand journey far greater than I could ever imagine.

I used to push every livestream to YouTube to which I noticed barely any were ever viewed and more so the rest of our videos were being viewed less often because it was launching a new video too often. So I took it to the chopping block and rebuilt it with a more Gamer focus.

The Gaiscioch Family Guardians are an advanced part of the Veteran Members group and serve as the front line of our family. They help newer members learn about the family, our website, and our belief system. They occasionally will need to help get conversations back on track, or report misdoing's to the family elders. They act as advisors, guidance providers, and overall protectors of the family name. By this time a member should be involved in the family for more than 6 months and has been an active attendee in family events. For those who prefer fellowship over leadership this is the last stop on the family tree. Members must prove their leadership ability to progress to the Leadership ranks through the accumulation of both Valor Points (Earned through leading events.) as well as earning Tokens of Valor from lower ranked members of the family.

Season 4
Blood of the Empire

As noblemen, nomads and sellswords fight tooth and nail for dominion of this coveted land, a new shadow is cast. Prepare to do battle with the ascendant Anadolou Empire when their armies are unleashed in Season IV: Blood of the Empire, launched as a free update July 21!

This season is packed with suitably epic content, including two new maps (for Field and Siege Battles), four unlockable units, exclusive attire and items from the Battle Pass, ornate weapons from the Anadolou Empire’s armouries, and new deployable items to help level or block the battlefield.

Ready to up the ante in Season IV’s Territory Wars? Warlords will be able to create their own large-scale structures in the open world, adding a rich tactical layer to this twice-weekly event. They’re also introducing a new type of reward to the Season IV Battle Pass in the form of Emotes! These fun animations offer creative ways to express yourself in victory, defeat, and everything in between.

Now is a great time to get involved in the community. Gear up, there are battles waiting!

The Gaiscioch Season 4 Plan
There will be Blood

In Season 4 there will be a wealth of new rewards available to us. The new house questing system allows you to earn some extra loot while increasing the pot of bronze that gets distributed to contributing members each week. We will be taking all territory with Gaiscioch and continue using Tuatha to locate the ones who communicate to bring them over to the big house.

On the Territory Wars front we can expect the days of sitting idly defending to be in the past. Our side of the world just received a hostile visitor who we will be fighting tooth and nail until they are cast out of the area. If you thought MING was a salty group, this one has come here with the sole intent to kill us. They won't leave, they won't back down. We need to rise to the challenge, rally our forces and take the fight to them. 

Season 4 will be the bloodiest season yet for us. But iron is not forged in snow, it is forged in fire. This gives us a chance to try various ideas against one of the most difficult houses in the game. If we can prevail we do so against one of the best. 

This house fights without honor, without integrity and stands solely to disrupt our progress. They are the perfect villain. Let's spend this season having some fun and figuring out how to put down tyrants like this. It will only make us better in the long run.

Let's keep those chins up, fight a thousand battles and get better every time. Through defeat we will find glory. They waste their time fighting young players who are just learning the game, while we fight a tougher foe against all odds. We will learn, they will grow stale. Let their egos be their demise. Nobody expects us to win. When we do, it will be triumphant and something to remember. Bullies are bullies. Don't let them drag you into the abyss. Walk the high road. 

We will do our best to secure and hold Mainstadt and Westweg but that fight will not come easy. We will need an army. 15-20 people with golden era units per Fief. We will work together to get there. It will take time but I promise you we will prevail and at least you won't get bored. After this season you might just long for those quiet weeks with our tier 7 fiefs.

New World Delayed

It seems New World is getting a bit more polish. From what our insiders say, this is a good thing. The new date is set for March 2021, however everyone who pre-ordered or signed up for beta will gain access to a beta test on August 25th. This will give us a chance to take a sneak peak at what is coming next spring.
