Hi, I was just wondering if this info was correct that I heard and if it is only 100 people in a guild how are we going to fit every one in to one guild, we might have to make a few more guilds so that will be interesting. I really dont know how this will plan out.

Higher guild membership caps (to 500) can be purchased. From what I remember it takes 80 people online (at the time of the 500 cap increase purchase) and 12(ish) gold (in total) to fully upgrade the membership cap. My numbers could be wrong on the amounts of people online and the amount of money needed.

Cheri Dela Sangre - Human Elementalist
Ceilidh Dela Sangre - Human Mesmer
Shyrra Stormbough - Sylvari Ranger
Formerly: Rift

GSCH yesterday (on beta/stress-test) was up to a cap of 300.
Hoping ANet will soon add mechanism for alliances of guilds.

Now, question. I would really like to be apart of the main Gaiscioch guild, so how do you join guilds in GW2 or who should we look to for an invite? Also... if we join the guild in a stress test will we be in the guild after the stress test?

Kethryveris Raye (Sylvari Mesmer, lvl 11)- Your imagination is your enemy!!
Ignari Raye(Charr Ranger, lvl 12)- Death is like an arrow that is already in flight and your life only lasts until it reaches you.
Alyce Raye (Asura Guardian, lvl 10)-Power is no blessing in itself, except when it is used to protect the innocent.

Joining guilds - there is a guild interface (press G in game)
First get an invite. For us, I think the best way will be to ask in ventrilo. You could also whisper a member and ask for an invite.
The invite will be on your guild interface screen for you to accept.
You join, and you "represent" your guild which puts the GSCH tag over your head and lets you read and talk in /g.
All your characters will be in the guild. You can be in more than one guild, but only represent one at a time.

Thanks for that explanation Mulch. I plan on not having a lot of alts in the beginning and concentrating on my Elem. and Eng. which by far were my two favorite professions during all the testing. It will also keep me in check and I have started the first step by admitting I have altitist. It will be a challenge, but I think concentrating on just two will better serve me and the family. I know in Rift, because of the caps on guilds, I only had my two mains in the main guild - with my alts in the other guild - but with alliance chat it didn't matter too much. Hopefully GW's will get that up and running soon.
I also doubt we have a problem getting 80 members on line at once - we exceeded that during our Rift runs. Good times from days gone by - and great times to come.
"Death called for me and I stared it down - saying 'Not today Death, today you serve me." Morigana of Asshai
"I cheated death many times. There is a price to pay... give me three names so that I may pay death back." Morigana of Braavos, Engineer
"I am Morigana of Dragons - of the old blood. I will take what is mine with fire and blood!" Morigana of Dragons - Elementalist

We are going to start out with only one guild and grow that. Then see what happens from there. =)
For the person asking about stress test and in guild - all beta and stress test characters along with guilds get wiped before live. You have to restart with fresh characters and get invites to the guild that I know Fog will have started as soon as he can on prelaunch. So come early start, the server is squeaky clean of characters and guilds until we pile on. ;)

Go for 'G' rated. I dare you! =D You're words carry far more weight and power than you will ever know. Never expect people to take them the same way either.
Don't mess with the Mama Bear or her cubs (aka this family). =D

I am pretty sure the family will be able to expand the guild cap fairly quickly. If just a few members donate 50 silver to the cause, we would only need about 25. If a few people buy some gems and cash them out on the first day we could probably get the 500 cap fairly quickly.

I have yet to play any of the Beta's (I didnt want to spoil the intro of the game for myself) but how difficult is it to get money in the beginning? I'd be willing to donate anything I can to help kickstart the guild :)

The first ten or so levels is a grind for cash. Once you get to level 20, you start to pile up silver pretty quick.
