I believe that post had been referring to public beta as in people who preorder will start beta then, not an open beta at all. whether that is true or not, who knows, and there most likely will be more information on when exactly that starts when they officially allow preorders, which is not too far from now.

Wait and see what arenanet says in the next couple weeks.

Oh! Yeah i wasnt expecting the game to come out in June or July. So if i misled with with bad info on the game coming out April 20th, totally not mu intention. BUT I am hoping that April 20th is the first beta for those who pre-purchase the game.

I think that the release date will be as far away from Diablo3 and Wow Pandas release dates as possible

Game Stop had this game announced for release last fall. Even had a preorder available. dont believe anything you see at retailers. They are releasing pre-orders April 10th. but of all I have read there will be several more months of beta testing.

You can go to thier site and see the post about April 10th as the pre -order starts date.

Very excited for this game, can not wait to be with my family again!!!!!

Just to make sure its clear but from what I have read and seen at Guildwars2.com. You can only get the beta weekends and other perks if you pre-purchase, NOT pre-order. Also you have to be carful where you do so. If you pre-purchase from Amozon.com it will not count plz before you buy read the info on what retailers count for the beta weekends. I think we should get a release date next week just before pre-purchase available, it will be hard to convince people to pay $60+ for a game in advance without knowing when the game will come out for sure.
