ESO Event: Saturday's 12-2AM: Gaiscioch Shadow Ops

Greetings Everyone,

As population has dropped quite significantly in the oceanic hours running events in AvA has become increasingly difficult in this timeframe. Over the last 3 weeks we've had less than 16 at each of these events and being we are not usually able to capture anything of value against the enemy forces out there. 

So to keep things fun for those of us that do enjoy late night AvA we're going dark. We'll be roaming the countryside closing dolmens, exploring caves, and watching for enemy fortifications under siege so that I can teach you all a little bit about shadow warfare. If you've always wanted to play a stealth class and pick up some tricks of the trade I will be using this event to teach everyone to the best of my ability. It will be a nice balance of PvE and PvP objectives and I'll let you all get the feel for a little hidden warfare.

Any Class welcome, you do not have to be a nightblade or traditionally a stealth class. Make sure to have a Ranged weapon available though. We will be setting up ambushes.

What To Bring:

• Forward Camps
• Fire Ballistas
• Pact Ballistas
• Empty Bags - I plan to fill them up!
• Stealthing Shoes!

I would recommend high crit build fi you can find them,  being able to kill fast is key,  knock down and kill :)  sounds fun to bad its way to late for me

I shall dust off my Wood Elf Bow Sorc - I would love to learn your tricks.  She has a pack horse - so she has a lot of bag space :)

edit:  arrrrrggggh..... can't make it - have Grand Kid patrol Friday night- Saturday afternoon.   I still have to be stealthy - but in a different way.

Sounds like fun, but the only dark ops I do at that time is sleep.  This is 3am to 5am my time.

You all better have some fun with this and kick at least squash some blueberries and bananas who get in the way unawares.  ;)

Work is finally freeing me up to participate in one of these events. Definitely looking forward to shadow warfare, though I really need to learn how to get my bow to do more than 5% damage on foes, since they seem able to 3-shot me in return (Poxheart, Moaning and Shebali also seem to have a homing beacon hidden on my character somewhere).

What does impentrable cap at and how much crit do you need to overcome the cap ,

I read somewhere that 300 or so impentrable is  more than enough to null 40 % crit  and since most players  at high lvl  in AvA most likely will be wearing atleast 300- 500 impentrable .  a lot of players are stacking  power and damage  to deal raw damage since crit not as effective .

 Same as in Wow when they added resilence stat ie. anti crit on gear  people stopped stacking crit as it wasn`t effective , and most started stacking  attk power, spell power, and + damage gear .

So wehats the latest trend here .?   i know on my toons i stopped stacking crit as thats useful in pve and started stacking spell damage , and wep damage .to bypass their anti crit stacking .

And yes small skrimsher groups are way more fun than the zerg, and although not many see it , skrimsher groups are the key to the zerg being effective .

Beats me, our NB's are only in their 30's, so impenetrable versus crit don't make a lick of difference for us.

 Yep sekk that`s the thing that makes it hard to decide ,  not everyone will have 2 seperate sets .

  One set without impenet stat for pve , as in almost all MMO  npc mobs either can`t crit , or their chance to crit is very low thus  anti crit gear is not needed  .

 so it depends how much of the population uses  a set for pve and a set for pvp ,   vs those that use 1 set for both and have other stats on gear helpful in pve while useful in pvp like  infused , divines .

 I guessing most sub lvl cap are running mostly 1 set  of  general purpose gear ,

 So my armor has infused and impenet on it  like 4 imp and 3 infused , and  is a crafted set with  a mix of wep crit, wep and spell dam, 

 Using  hundring rage and tourts pact in my night blade and temp atm .

 4 hund rage armor, 3 tourt pact armor,  bow tourts pact,  and  duel wield ,  main  hand hund rage , off toruct pact ,  

  for 4/4 bonus with bow , and 5 hund and 4 tourt  with DW .   ahh love theory crafting lol

What blows my mind, is that my little NB is more effective at killing Vets on the open maps, than she is killing at 40's in Blackwater.  I didn't think that the "twink" principle was really possible in ESO, but I'm not much of a theory-crafter, so I guess it is?

Thats why it's such a difference. A lot of things in the Blackwater campaign are still set at VR 5 damage wise like archers and the odd npc that didn't get the message.

  maybe numbers have been low due to times , we only do 1 event at 600pm pst on Tuesday , and then another at 1100pm pst on Friday , nothing all day Sat or Sun . 

 while i`m normally up late on friday sometimes i`m tired and don`t feel like staying up till 100am my time to start the event and it finishing at 400am . or 200am - 500am  for those on the east coast .   Granted most of you are west coast so maybe it`s  another issue keeping people from showing up for RvR on Friday event . /shrugs 

if we started at 700pm or 800pm ish on Friday night pst that might  get a lot more people maybe since we have a good number at 600pm pst on Tuesday event .

or are we trying to purposely cap extra late at night  to get easy flips like people did in Warhammer and GW2  late night  Rvdoor groups . 

 granted it`s Football season and that screws up some Sunday events , although i can watch Football  and game at the same time !  lol .

The late night event was started for the oceanic folk. I hold 1 event in us prime time and one in oceanic prime time. You need to remember that Gaiscioch is a global community. USA isn't the only group of players here. Kaytlyn runs European Prime for us, I run US Prime and Oceanic Prime. We try to make sure everyone is included in something. 

That said attendance numbers for the Oceanic group have dropped quite significantly in ESO over the past 2 months. We've gone from 4 raids to 12 people. Guild Wars 2 however we're still averaging 25-50 people every Oceanic event. It's not that these are hosted late night. When the game launched we had almost 100 people attending. Interest has since died down and even my Tuesday event is nowhere near where it was in scale. 

I'm hoping with the trip at the end of the month I can help Zenimax get back on track.

i hope so  while its always fun ,  and i actually perfer  being in the skrimsh groups , while the main force  does the heavy work , the skrimsher groups help make the main force more effective by misdirection, taking out backline targets, cutting off their support of people by drawing some away from the main fight, killing stragglers, taking out their forward camps etc , all usefule and helps the main group, .

  without a main group skrimsh while very fun becomes harder  as theres no main force to draw them away so we the skrimshers can be more effective also . if that made any sense ha . 

 hopefully well get back to having better numbers i miss seeing a more  of us in RvR .  :D

I didn't realize the event was really intended for Oceanic.  I still attend, even though I'm MST.  Shadow Ops is a blast...

hmm  looks like we need another event for sat durning the day  ,  too take up the space between Tuesday events ,  for people not on Oceanic time that can`t stay up till 200  or 300am to do AvA  with the guild .

  Been busy but hadn`t noticed HOL  had cancelled their events .

 depending on schedual i`ll see if i can run something Sat afternoon or if another can that`d be great also .  had way more free time before i decided to go back to school ha /lame homework getting in the way .

I would like to do events but I cant stay up late on Fridays since I work Saturdays. I only have vets so I cant do the blackwater blade event

I have missed the last couple due to family - and while I love running with my pixelated family - playing games with the real family is more enjoyable :)  

The 12am events were originally intended to be a source of events for the Oceanic members.  Well, they still are, but that is why its at the time its at.  It won't change, sorry east coasters, but its for your mates down under.  (and us pacific coasters who can't sleep)

Cuhal. In oct we're rotating the campaign between the Open and Non-VR campaigns. We have 2 Wednesday events on Thornblade and 1 wednesday on Blackwater Blade this month. Will be MIA for 1 week in Oct as I'll be in atlanta.

Alright cool, I miss doing events. I will do my best to make it :)
