So, I got to play around with ESO over this past weekend, and found out this terrible computer can run it. So, I tried messing with the graphics, and I noticed something. It didn't matter if the texture quality was set to low, medium, or high, because they all looked like the same low-quality junk.

This is my argonian during Eiahn's (hope I spelled it right) event with the map clear of Stonefall: http://i.imgur.com/35bdYXs.png

My settings are as follows

display: fullscreen

resolution: 1280x720 (hate having it at this low res, but otherwise it isn't that great performance, even with everything on low)

vertical sync: off

anti-aliasing: off

texture quality: high

sub-sampling: high

shadow: low

water reflection: low

ambient occlusion: off

bloom: off

depth of field: on

distortion: off

sunlight rays: off

grass: off

I typically get 15-20 fps with these settings, which is about normal for any game I play on PC. What brought this question about is looking at how nice Jairone's screenshots look in his Craglorn thread, and then looking at the screenshot I posted earlier in this post. So, any clue as to why, despite having texture quality set to high, it looks like that? Thanks for any help, and hope this isn't in the wrong spot.

My understanding is that you have to restart the client after changing the texture quality in order for the changes to take effect. I don't know if you did that in between changing the setting. also some hints you should drop your sub-sampling down and disable depth of field.

Could you post your system specs run Speccy on your PC and post a screen shot of it's screen after it scans your PC.

Also one thing to note, the screen shot you posted is 1920x1080. So you may want to be sure you are actually playing at 720p.

Also, my screen resolution is 1920x1080, but I turn the game down to 1280x720, though right now it is at the same resolution as Jairone's. I tried to get Speccy from you, Pookha, but the download failed. When going to system, my processor is 2.5ghz dual core with integrated graphics. I would love to be able to get a new gaming PC that could handle ESO (and many other games) on high at 1920x1080. I may just turn everything back to low and the resolution back to 1920x1080, if the textures aren't going to improve no matter what I have them set to.

Yeah, probably not going to get much better with an integrated card (they tend to be low end.)  Still, it looks better than your other image.

I'll be honest with a integrated GPU on a dual core system I'm surprised the game even runs.

I was surprised as well. At the original settings in my OP, with texture quality to medium and subsampling on high, and depth of field off, I get normally about 19 FPS. I changed the resolution to 1920x1080, and the graphics looked similar to what Jairone has in that thread, but I was getting about 8 FPS. So, until I can get a better PC, I will have to suffer with some terrible graphics. But, I am used to that unfortunately.
