On May 19th, the Trinity formed 4 WBs as it took and defended lands in our 3rd Tier of Defense. The call went out for the Eagle formation. The plan was to pinch the enemy in the Eagle's talons. Unfortunately, during my active duty time, the enemy did not present itself to being pinched. They did however give us some wonderful oppurtunities to plant them into our defensive walls and water our foliage with their blood.
I joined the Trinity at the gates of Passwatch and assisted in her taking. We then quickly claimed the nearby tower and moved to reclaim Thickmuck. This is where the Eagle was to sharpen its claws but alas the enemy had already departed the battlefield. The WBs were divided, one to take back Thickmuck and the other to lay in wait and prevent reinforcements to reaching the keep. As our blows weakened the outer doors, runners reported that the foul stench of destro was nearing PassWatch and threatening the Gaiscioch banner that flew high and proud above its walls.
As the gates at Thickmuck crumbled, reports were coming in that even more of the vile horde were pressing our walls. Our valiant leader, Dannan, dispatched the protecting WBs to Passwatch, leaving 6 groups to take down the lord at Thickmuck with orders to dispatch the lord and quickly mobilize to defend our lord in Passwatch.
As the last drop of blood spilled, from the vanquished, at Thickmuck, news came that the doors of passwatch be down and the Lord was at risk. The spoils were quickly collected, mounts were summoned and the remaining force quickly speed to Passwatch.
Upon arrival to Talabecland, we swooped past the outer gates and caught the foe, trapped on our bottom floor. They tried to flee, right into the face of our steel, and were quickly dispatched. Those that did get away, foolishly tried to claim the Tower of Verentane. Those, too, were quickly removed.
I do not know if the Eagle did get to strike her pray that day but I have no doubt, we have seen the talons and soon, very soon, they shall have the chance to strike.
